With movie theatres not opening anytime soon because of the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more Bollywood filmmakers are opting for OTT platforms for the release of their movies. After Gulabo Sitabo and Gunjan Saxena now, seven films including Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride Of India And Sushant Singh Rajput's Dil Bechara have joined the digital bandwagon.
Disney+Hotstar will premiere seven films-
Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride of India, Sadak 2, Big Bull, Dil Bechara, Loot Case and Khuda Haafiz between July to October. The big announcement was made today via a virtual press conference called 'Bollywood ki home delivery' with Uday Shankar - President, The Walt Disney Company APAC and Chairman, Star & Disney India along with Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.
Sushant Singh Rajput's last movie Dil Bechara, which is the official remake of The Fault In Our Stars, will be the first movie to release on Hotstar. Sushant will be seen opposite Sanjana Sanghi in the Mukesh Chhabra-directed movie.
Sadak 2 marks Mahesh Bhatt’s comeback as a director after 21 years and it stars Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Jishu Sengupta, Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. Big Bull stars Abhishek Bachchan and is reportedly based on Harshad Mehta scam.
