The Amateur box office:
The Amateur, starring Rami Malek in the lead role, was released in India on Thursday. Given the low buzz and hardly any excitement among moviegoers, the film opened to a disastrous reception at the Indian box office.

The Amateur India Box office:
The film opened with Rs. 15 lakhs on day one, which pretty much sums up the entire scenario. The awareness around the film didn't really reach a level of interest due to poor marketing and promotions (as if that would have helped). There are no hopes for this one at the box office, adding another flop to 20th Century Studios and the team.

The Amateur is struggling significantly on day two as well, with most of its business taken by Sunny Deol's Jaat. The studio hardly has any significant hits to its name in India, except for James Cameron's Avatar (2009) and Avatar: Way of Water (2022)—handled by a different team. The expected lifetime numbers of the film aren't likely to reach a double-digit total.
Directed by James Hawes, the film stars Rami Malek, Rachel Brosnahan, Caitríona Balfe, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson, and Laurence Fishburne. Written by Ken Nolan and Gary Spinelli, The Amateur is based on the 1981 novel of the same name by Robert Littell, which was previously adapted into a Canadian film.
