'2 States' Director Abhishek Varman To Make Partition-Era Love Story Next

Abhishek Varman, who had made his directorial debut with 2 States, an urban love story, is all set to announce his next project, which will be a love story set against the background of the Indo-Pak Partition.

Sources claim that the story was Karan Johar's idea initially and Abhishek liked it. He then took it from there and started scripting. The love story set in Partition-era is now completely ready and good to move to the next stage. However, the casting of the film has not been finalized yet, it seems.

Varman's 2 States, which had starred Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was based on Chetan Bhagat's novel.
