This is a film which one is looking forward to for a long time. Aziz Mirza, the man who gave us some endearing films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Chalte Chalte is back. The film which stars Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan, is up for release very soon and its songs have already started making their presence felt. The music of the film has been composed by the sensational Pritam with lyrics by Sayeed Qadri and Shabbir Ahmed. The album has, in all, five songs, all of them having their remixed versions as well, with one of them being remixed twice.
The album opens with 'Ai Paapi (Tu Hai Meri Soniye),' which sets the mood of the film going. The lyrics are in Hinglish and it's almost like the film's title track with the name, Kismet Konnection occurring in the song. The song is sung with full gusto by Neeraj Sridhar. This number has been remixed as well and it is the kind of number which should go down well on the dance floors. The picturisation of the number is bound to add to its universal appeal.
The album's second number ''Bakhuda Tumhi Ho' has Atif Alam of 'Pehli Nazar Main' fame coming together with Alka Yagnik for a duet which has melody written all over it. Atif sings in his inimitable style, and imbues the song with a lot of passion. Yagnik is great as always with her crystal clear and perfectly moulded voice. This number is yet another winner in the album. Its remixed version works well enough too.
Singer Shaan, Suheil, Akruti Kakkar and Hard Kaur come together to create a riot with the next number titled 'Move Your Body.' It is a foot tapping number, has been sung extremely with enough gusto and verve. The use of so many different singers, adds to the vitality of the number. This is another musical coup by Pritam. In the second version of the song, Adeel comes in place of Shaan but the song does not loose anything in the bargain. The remixed version works has the required punch, to make it in all, a winner.
The next song reveals an absolute change in mood. Titled, Is This Love (Kahin Na Lage), the number is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Mohit Chauhan. This is the second instance when Pritam manages to rope in this singer. The last time was for Jab We Met , when Prtiam and Mohit created magic with Tum Se Hi. You can feel the hangover of the spell as this number too weaves its magic. Shreya is known for her melodious voice and so is Mohit. And when Pritam gets them together, what we get is a truly romantic song created effortlessly by the singers. This number too has been remixed in the album.
With 'Soniye Ve (Dhak Dhak Dhak),' Pritam conjures up the mandatory Punjabi tadka. The song has been sung effortlessly by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan. It has a remixed version as well, which works well. It has power and rhythm and should do well too even though it seems to be musically the weakest song in this offering by Pritam.
The music of Kismet Konnection undoubtedly makes a connect with the listener's heart. Pritam's music is bang on as he provides fare which is musically tasteful, energetic, and fun. The album has at least a couple of potential chartbusters, which are bound to make the connect with the audiences. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the film will connect with the audiences as well or not.
