Ever since a couple of songs from Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety were unveiled first <Dil Chori, Chhote Chhote Peg>, the stage was set well for a rollicking score to follow. Director Luv Ranjan does understand the pulse of the youth (as evidenced in his Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise) and with Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety he definitely seems to have taken it to the next level if one goes by the promo and the songs. Let's take a look.

sonu-2The current generation may not have possibly heard much of composer Anand Raj Anand and singer Hans Raj Hans' chartbuster tracks 'Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya' and 'Tote Tote Ho Gaya'. However, those in their 30s and beyond would certainly remember these numbers that has been huge hits on the turn of the millennium. They are successfully recreated by Yo Yo Honey Singh who comes back from hiatus and makes a solid comeback with his own versions.

His excellent rap makes 'Dil Chori' a song to be remembered even as Simar Kaur & Ishers give him very good support. On the other hand Neha Kakkar and Navraj Hans are his accompanying partners for 'Chhote Chhote Peg' which holds its ground in the new avtar and ensures that the party goers have a lot to celebrate as they groove on to the beats on the dance floor.

sonu-3As for those who love Amaal Mallik's brand of cool-n-breezy youthful music, there is 'Subah Subah' in the offering. The moment this Kumaar written song begins to play, you want to pack your bags and take that long highway ride with your loved one on a nice-n-warm morning. Arijit Singh, Prakriti Kakar and Amaal Mallik sing this one pretty much in tandem and ensure that as a listener you give it you due attention.

sonu-4Zack Knight's 'Bom Diggy Diggy' makes an appearance at this point in the soundtrack and registers its presence instantly. In any case this Punjabi-English-Hindi track has been a huge chartbuster in the house-party circuits and the overall impact created by Zack (with his co-singer Jasmin Walia and co-singer Kumaar) is such that you can't help but play it on in a repeated mode. A solid entertainer all over again!

Meanwhile, it is time for Guru Randhawa's 'Kaun Nachdi' to arrive next and though this one does take time, it eventually does catch up with you. He teams up with co-composer Rajat Nagpal for this Punjabi dance number that has Neeti Mohan has his accompanying partner. With a good groove to it and an out and out pleasant tune, 'Kaun Nachdi' has the potential to do well and one waits to catch on its video soon.

With quite a few songs in Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, there are many songs that are still waiting to be unveiled. Rochak Kohli's 'Lakk Mera Hit' is one such song. The young composer has been creating songs across all genres, ranging from soft melodic numbers to dance hits. This one belongs to the latter category as Sukriti Kakar leads from the front along with Mannat Noor and ensures that this breezy dance track written by Kumaar doesn't have a single dull moment.

As mentioned earlier, Rochak has shown that he can excel in different genres and the testimony to that is 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main' where he not just does his job as a composer but also sings this one with Arijit Singh. Kumaar writes some heartfelt lyrics for 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main' which is about a relationship gone wrong and how there is a sense of missing someone and the regret that comes along with it. A well tuned number, 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main' should sound better in the context of the film.

sonu-5Mika Singh concludes the album with Saurabh Vaibhav composed and Swapnil Tiwari written 'Sweety Slowly Slowly'. An average track, this one doesn't really work and comes across as a rather forced inclusion in the album. Honestly, with so many other interesting songs at its disposal, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety could well have done away with 'Sweety Slowly Slowly'.

Overall, the film boasts of carrying a breezy youthful soundtrack and one now waits to see how as many as eight songs fit well into the flow of the film.
