The music of 1920 was ordinary, though Vaada was a very good song. Later, 1920 The Evil Returns has boasted of some good songs in the form of Apnaa Mujhe Tu Lagaa, Uska Hi Banaana and Jaavedaan Hai. Now that third in the series, 1920 London is arriving, one expects some good music on the cards since the genre, stage and setting is similar.

Aaj Ro Len De does well in that aspect as it is just the kind of start that one expects from the soundtrack. Sharib Sabri gets it right as the composer as his music here is as per the requirement of the film's narrative. His lyrics along with Toshi Sabri and Kalim Shaikh are quite effective for the story that is on display for screen and with the melodic element intact, courtesy his own voice, you do go with the flow.

Same is the case with Rootha Kyun as well which has the right ingredients in place for 1920 as a franchise. The love element is churned out quite well by Mohit Chauhan and Payal Dev as together they sing this one well. Moreover, there is a definite effort put together by newcomer lyricist Azeem Shirazi as he gets into the mood of the affairs and brings on the kind of words that deserve to be heard closely.

That is not the case though for Tujhko Mein which just doesn't rise up to the occasion. Staying dull in all departments, be it the composition (Sharib Sabri), lyrics (Azeem Shirazi) or rendition (Shaan), it doesn't make you recollect its sound even after being heard a few times. Not that it makes for a bad listen, but then it isn't memorable either.

What you do remember though is the sound of Aafreen which has a nice and pleasant tune to it, courtesy Kaushik and Akash of J.A.M.. Together, they ensure that 1920 London ends with euphoria and that's actually a right move since you do not want your music to conclude on a depressing note. Moreover, tried and tested singers like KK and Antara Mitra are an asset for this Prashant Ingole written song.

Play this one for some nice-a-easy music that stays consistent right through the four songs.

Our picks: Aafreen, Rootha Kyon, Aaj Ro Len De
