When Ram Kapoor hams, he hams badly. The trouble is, unlike hamming as an acting style which at times doed turn funny, none of that is really the case in Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. Here, the whole hamming is annoying, irritating and sadly, disappointing. To ham for the sake if it, just in order to make the whole narrative loud, is terrible too say the least. This is what unfortunately the entire structure of KKLH turns out to be.
While we talk about the antics of Ram Kapoor's character, let's talk about Sunny Leone. The fact that she can act has been established in Ek Paheli Leela; no two words about it. Then pray why does she have to pay second fiddle to Ram? Guess what, despite her being the center of attraction, she is actually on the periphery of KKLH. Believe it or not but it is Ram who appears in every scene, and not Sunny, and that adds on to further disappointment of KKLH.
Ok, so we will talk about that too a little later. Let us bring on the third locha, the young couple in the film that has first timer pairing Navdeep Chabbra up with Evelyn Sharma. Now really, what was the need of this couple in the film? But no, director Devang Dholakia seems to have certain ideas on that front as well. So he actually dedicates first 25 minutes of the film on their (absolutely needless and pointless) 'prem kahaani'. Yes, you read it right. As a result, barring am opening number by Sunny, her talkie appearance is actually delayed by a full half an hour.

Now that's the biggest locha in the film.
Come on, let's play the game one way. If you have Sunny in the film, take the sunny route. The makers of Jism 2, Ragini MMS 2 and Ek Paheli Leela understood it well and they reaped in the benefits, albeit to various degree. Jackpot didn't, and the results were there to be seen.
The story would, unfortunately, not be any different for KKLH. This one does have a few smiles and a couple of laughs, but honestly they are not enough. Oh yes, there is ample skin show, but then presented right on your face - well, literally - it ceases to be erotica. As for the performances, Sunny does show in a pre-climax dramatic outburst on the life and times of a glamorous actress that she has in it to be taken seriously.
Perhaps her upcoming movies will do justice to that.
