Actress-turned-filmmaker Divya Kumar Khosla, the wife of T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, had made her debut as a director with the yuppie love story Yaariyan and though the film made a decent impact at the box-office, the same cannot be predicted for Divya's next venture Sanam Re.

Starring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela, Sanam Re revolves around the love story of Akash (Samrat) and Shruti (Yami). When Akash leaves his ladylove in the lurch in order to follow his ambitions, little does he know that professional or financial success is not enough to fill up the loneliness in his heart.

When his boss threatens to sack him, Akash promises to get him an elusive contract and jets off to Canada to join a Yoga Ashram in order to 'patao' Akanksha (Urvashi Rautela), who owns the company, which can give him the contract. Akanksha falls for Akash's boyish charms, but the situation gets complicated when Shruti lands there and old sparks are reignited.

Will Akash follow his love or his ambition? This is what Sanam Re ultimately deals with…

Pulkit, who had made his debut with Bittoo Boss, had shown great promise in Fukrey, but the lad disappoints in this film by choosing to focus more on his muscle display than his acting skills. Yami, who had also impressed us in Vicky Donor, too lets us down, though we must say that Urvashi looks quite easy on the eyes, despite not being able to do much in the acting department.

Rishi Kapoor is seen playing Akash's aged grandpa and the veteran actor tries to do his best, though at times, his goofy grin and those thick glasses make him look eerie in some scenes.

The only good thing that can be said about the film is that the makers have done a great job of selecting locations and the cinematography simply takes your breath away. If you keep that away, the film has absolutely nothing to appeal to your senses. The music is quite forgettable, the direction is amateurish and the writing is pathetic. The performances are no great shakes either and the pace is sluggish.

In conclusion, watch it at your own risk.
