Satyameva Jayate 2 Movie Review: Satyameva Jayate 2 Is Out-an-Out Action Film Made for Hardcore Masses

Milap Zaveri is big fan of 70s and 80s mass cinema made by great filmmakers like Manmohan Desai, Subhash Ghai, Prakash Mehra etc. and whatever films he has made so far and has written so far clearly shows his passion about bringing back that lost treasure. The cinema in India has evolved over the years but Commercial and Mass films always make good money at box office because that audience don't want any philosophy or lectures, all they want is entertainment, action and heroic stuff.Milap Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate 2 brings that 80s cinema back for 2021's audience by including a big national issue like corruption in the main narrative. He delivers an out-an-out mass oriented actioner with his favourite hero John Abraham, and also gives him the most hardcore, larger,and heroic character of his career. Satyameva Jayate 2 is made only and only for typical masses who love watching films in single screen theatres with no expectations of artistic cinema and loves hooting and whistling all the way. That juggernaut they want is here but of course the intellectual audience will find nothing likeable in it. Satyameva Jayate 2 is a sequel to 2018 Hit Film Satyameva Jayate but it's not a continuous story. It's a completely different film. While Satyameva Jayate was about corruption in the police force, Satyamev Jayate 2 is about corruption on a national level in almost every field. John Abraham plays triple role in the film– A hardcore patriot Dadasaheb Azad, his Politician son Satya and his second son Jay who is a cop. The film has a lot of family drama too but that does not interfere in the main story which is about the fight against corruption. Divya Khosla Kumar plays the wife of Satya who is a politician and also a daughter of a politician. The screenplay of the film is pretty engaging with plenty of action scenes and seeti maar dialogues. You will get to see a whistle worthy scene after every 10 minutes in the film. Technically, SMJ 2 is like a flashback of 80s blockbusters as Milap Zaveri continuously uses the same methods Manmohan Desai and others used back then. It may feel a little irritating after a while but like mentioned earlier, it's not a film to think about. It's a film made to be enjoyed by the masses with screams and noises inside the auditorium. There is John Abraham going larger-than-life with his heroic image and big muscles, there is hardcore patriotism and there's something about humanity and communal harmony as well.John is too massy to be described in words because his dialogues have so much weight and power that can change things on a social level, if accepted. Divya looks beautiful but her role could have been a little bigger especially in the climax. The supporting cast is decent with a couple of members getting extremely massy and dramatic scenes to share. The music is a big plus for SMJ 2. Kusu is a hit number but it's too hot to handle. Nora Fatehi dances like she was born to master this art. Gann Mann is a soulful patriotic number and it will surely stay with you. The other remake number is a good time-pass because the situations make it look so. Satyameva Jayate 2 has many loud and massy dialogues which are sure to receive whistles from single screen audience but at the same time classes may find it difficult to digest in today's era.Director Milap Zaveri has a clear mind-set that he has made this film for masses and not for intellectuals. He fulfills his promise. He does not care about multiplex audiences hence, keeps Satyameva Jayate 2 loud and hot. Yes, he could have used modern theories of mass cinema like Rajamouli or Rohit Shetty use but like he has said already, Satyameva Jayate 2 is his tribute to those filmmakers who redefined masala cinema in India in the 80s decade. This one is surely 3 decades late but if today's audience has liked his Satyameva Jayate and Marjaavaan then they will like Satyameva Jayate 2, too. It's a Milap Zaveri Mass-Universe. Now it's up to you whether you want to enter or not because you'll not get anything else but out-an-out action masala entertainer here.RATING - 3/5*
