Considering that the film is a lift of the Hollywood hit Bruce Almighty, how wrong could debutant director Rumi Jaffery go when his cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra? Sadly, he goes terribly wrong in a film which bores, irritates and has you wishing it would just finally end!

The story is about AP (Salman Khan) who in spite of being a sincere, honest and hard working guy, is always down on his luck and each time something goes against him, he screams to the heavens asking God what his problem is. God (Amitabh Bachchan) eventually meets AP and gives him the powers of God for ten days as a challenge as to whether AP can do a better job running the world. AP first has some fun with his powers, does some good for others along the way, but after the tenth day he realizes the implications of his actions and admits that God really does know what he is doing and he is the best at doing it.

What could have been a funny, entertaining film is in fact quite the opposite. Funny moments are minimal, Salman is surprisingly a major disappointment in a genre that is in fact his forte. He is loud and hams throughout. Bachchan is fine but one wonders why the role is so weak and without any real impact. Priyanka Chopra is dependable as usual but you find yourself asking why she felt the need to do such a film in the first place. Also she really needs to take better care of her overall look in terms of clothes and make up. Sohail Khan and Anupam Kher both irritate to the core, not so much because they haven't performed well but more so because their characters are so half baked that the characters themselves do not work at all.

The film has been in the making for a while and that really shows on the screen as the visuals look dated as does the styling. The music doesn't work and one song actually looks like it has been made from extra footage of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. The only plus point of the film are a few of the scenes between Salman and his mother which have a couple of funny one liners.

Granted that comedy films do not need to be logical or even have a very strong screenplay. But then they should at least be funny and entertaining. Even the length of the film is excessive and the film should have been kept within two hours five minutes, instead of the two hour forty minutes that it actually is. God Tussi Great Ho is an absolute dud!
