Red - The Dark Side Movie Review: A film noir that is dark and stylish in texture but low on mystery

Red-The Dark Side is a Vikram Bhatt thriller that falls short on thrills and expectations. A film noir that is dark and stylish in texture but low on mystery, it is no match to Bhatt?s earlier works like Raaz and Kasoor.

Starring Aftab Shivdasani, Celina Jaitley and Amrita Arora, the story revolves around Aftab?s Neil, waiting for a heart transplant. When Anahita?s (Celina Jaitley) husband dies, he becomes the donor and Neil lives on. However, it is learnt that the husband was murdered, and there may have been an affair between Anahita?s husband and Amrita Arora?s Ria, Anahita?s best friend. Without divulging any more, though the story sounds interesting, the screenplay unfolds with little to offer at every twist and turn.

The performances are average and the writing without any emphasis on plotting, and the director seems to be struggling with a weak subject and setting.

Red-The Dark Side will be in the red at the box office.
