Zayed has films in his blood as he is the son of Sanjay Khan and nephew to the late Feroz Khan, while Hrithik Roshan is his brother in law. But that still has not made life easy for Zayed, who has yet to attain and enjoy the kind of success that his father and uncle enjoyed before him. The actor made a fairly promising debut in the film Chura Liya Hai Tumne opposite Esha Deol in 2003. He was noticed but it was Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na which won him a measure of recognition.
The film was a blockbuster hit and Zayed's career too received a boost. He next appeared in a string of multi starrers like Dus, Speed, Cash, Mission Istanbul and Yuvvraaj, none of which really clicked at the box office. Next, he did a film called Blue, which has Zayed sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt. Khan, who prefers multi-starrer films, was until recently working on Tezz with Ajay Devgan and Anil Kapoor, which released recently.
The actor along with good friend Dia Mirza and her boyfriend Sahil Sanga has started his own production house, Born Free Entertainment, and their the first film Love Breakups Zindagi was released in October 2011.
