Vinod Khanna Profile
He might have started his career as a deadly villain but because of his drop-dead good looks, producers soon started chasing him to be the hero. The girls would be found queuing behind him for his one smile and look at dimpled face. Vinod Khanna was the most loved star of his time. Vinod Khanna started his career as a villian in Sunil Dutt's 'Man Ka Meet' (1969). Sunil Dutt's brother Som Dutt was the hero but the man who got all the notice was the villain. And what a wonderful villain he turned out to be. For sometime he kept doing villainous roles as in 'Sacha Jhootha' and 'Aan Milo Sajna'. Gradually, with films like 'Mere Apne' (1972) and 'Achanak' (1973) he had become an actor to reckon with. But things changed in his favour and he found himself doing more of positive roles. He also got an opportunity to do films like 'Parvarish', 'Muqadar Ka Sikander', 'Hera Pheri', 'Amar Akbar Anthony' and 'Khoon Pasina' with Amitabh Bachchan. Then there came some of his solo movies like 'Imtihaan', 'Aap Ki Khatir' and 'Lahoo Ke Do Rang'. His co-stars mostly were Rekha, Shabana Azmi, Tanuja, Rakhee and Yogita Bali. Just when everything was looking plum for him, he decided to retire and found solace in Osho Rajneesh. But soon he was back and came up with hits like 'Insaaf' and 'Jurm'. This time he worked with the likes of Anita Raj, Meenakshi Sheshadari and Sangeeta Bijlani. He launched his son Akshaye Khanna in a film called 'Himalayputra'.
