Coming from a film background, it wasn’t surprising when Ravi Chopra himself also ventured into cinema. The son of producer-director BR Chopra and the nephew of renowned producer-director Yash Chopra, Ravi Chopra made his debut as a director by directing the blockbuster ‘Zameer’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna.
Ravi Chopra is also famous for directing the popular television serial ‘Mahabharat’, which was aired during 1988-1990, and the television mini-series, ‘Ramayan’, which was aired in 2002.
Chopra died on 12 November 2014 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted few days ago for lung ailment. He was 68 years old, and survived by his wife and three children.
