Moushumi Chatterjee's first Hindi film was "Anuraag" (1972) which was a remake of Bengali hit "Balika Badhu". Most of her favourite co-stars were Vinod Mehra, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and Rishi Kapoor. Her rape sequence in the film "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" is still considered to be one of the classic shots in Hindi cinema. There came a time in her career where she had to gracefully start doing character roles of mother and sister-in-law. One of her favourite screen brother-in-law has been Mithun chakraborty. "Ghayal" was another movie which brought out the other side of her acting. She has also been doing many television serials which keeps the actress busy.
