After chiseling out a place for himself in Bengali films, Biswajit tried his luck in Hindi movies. 'Bees Saal Baad' in 1962, was the first Hindi movie he starred in. The movie had all the ingredients of a super hit ? a powerful script, suspense and haunting music - which made it an instant hit, and Biswajit found himself settled in Bollywood with good offers pouring in. Where Shammi Kapoor was the king of light romantic films of the 60s era, Biswajit soon found himself sharing screen presence with the man. Biswajit was seen in movies like 'Mere Sanam', 'Bin Badal Barsaat', 'Kaise Kahoon', 'Shehnai', 'Do Dil' and 'Night In London', and he was often paired with Mala Sinha, Asha Parekh, Waheeda Rehman, Rajshri and Sairo Bano. He also starred in two much talked about movies, 'Do Shikari' and 'Anjana Safar' with Rekha, which even saw him on the cover of 'Life' magazine. There were a couple of movies like 'Kahte Hain Mujhko Raja? which he directed in 1975. But getting a cold response, Biswajit shifted his focus towards character roles.
