Stree 2 has created history at the box office! The film has scored the highest number of footfalls for any Bollywood movie in the post-pandemic era. This is simply unbelievable!
The final numbers of Stree 2 are in the range of 54–55 crore nett for the first day, which are much higher than the early estimates reported yesterday. The film has performed extremely well in mass circuits and overtook almost every big Bollywood film in the B and C centres.
Stree 2 has surpassed the opening day footfalls (number of tickets sold) of the three biggest Bollywood openers in the post-endemic era: Jawan, Animal, and Pathaan. This is HISTORIC! Believe it or not, Stree 2 did it in a 3-way clash, while the other 3 were solo releases.
Jawan was a solo release on a holiday, whereas Pathaan and Animal did it on non-holidays. Stree 2 was boosted by the national holiday but was released on a smaller number of screens compared to these three films.
Below are the opening day collections of these 4 films :
Jawan - 63.87 crore nett
Pathaan - 55.72 crore nett
Animal - 51.48 crore nett
Stree 2 - 55 crore nett (63.5 crore nett including paid previews).
Footfalls wise, Stree 2 stands on top, followed by Jawan, Animal, and Pathaan. It is a historic feat. for Stree 2 since it was not a big-budget film like the others and didn't even have such a wide release. It proved again that the content and buzz can even make a mid-budget film perform like a big-budget event film.
