A day ago we had reported that priests of Uttarakhand have called for a blanket ban on Kedarnath for promoting love jihad and now, Aanand L Rai‘s Zero has landed in soup for hurting Sikh sentiments.
The trailer of the Shah Rukh Khan-Katrina Kaif–Anushka Sharma starrer was unveiled a few days ago and it has not gone down well with the Sikh community as SRK is seen wearing the Gatra Kirpan (Article of Sikh Faith) in one of the scenes.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, has filed a complaint against Khan and Rai in a Delhi police station for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community. In his letter he has stated that a Gatra Kirpan can only be worn by an Amritdhari Sikh and that the promo has created ‘outrage among the Sikh community worldwide’ as Shah Rukh is seen wearing it in the promo. He has requested the cops to file an FIR against Rai and Khan and also to ‘immediately stop’ the promo of Zero, which shows SRK wearing the Gatra Kirpan.
Sirsa has complained to the Central Board of Film Certfication (CBFC) as well.
