Vicky Kaushal, who had played the male lead in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, is reuniting with director again for a film on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and his look from the movie was unveiled today, on the celebrated officer’s death anniversary.
Vicky unveiled his look as India’s first Field Marshal and impressed the hell out of us. As he shared the image with his fans, he wrote,”I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Remembering him on his death anniversary today and embracing the new beginnings with @meghnagulzar and #RonnieScrewvala”
Meghna has revealed that the film is not a biopic as it doesn’t give a chronological account of Manekshaw’s life but will be an interesting narrative of the landmark events in his life.
Vicky too is quite excited to play Manekshaw. Vicky says that though he couldn’t ‘personally witness his achievements’, his parents used to tell him that he was a fearless patriot. He also revealed that he first heard about him in the context of the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The film will go on floors next year and will focus on the Indo-Pak Partition, accession of Kashmir and the 1971 War.
