On a Father’s Day special interaction with a newspaper daily, David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan shared about their transition from father-son duo to that of director-actor on a film’s set. David Dhawan speaking about it revealed that he treats Varun just like any of the other actors he direct or rather, he treats him worse. He added how he scolds him in front of everyone if he fails to give a good shot, however he also said that Varun works well with improvisations and that all the nervousness from their first film went away in their second collaborative venture, Judwaa 2 because by then he became a complete commercial hero.
Varun too added how he wants his father to share the same kind of relationship that he does with every other actor he works with. He further shared his experience of working with his father which has been a creatively satisfying one.
He concluded by saying how he is very selfish about his films and how he pushes himself to do better, He added how he also knows it is his father, who pushes him to think and bring that energy on set.
Varun has done two films with his father already and the duo will be coming together for the third time with the remake of 90’s hit film, Coolie No. 1 with the youth sensation, Sara Ali Khan. The father and son duo surely make for a great pair when it comes to getting the massy entertainers right as proved by their past ventures.
