It was recently reported that Subhash Ghai, who is now making a film titled Sarabjit on slain Indian prisoner Sarbjit Singh, has roped in Amitabh Bachchan to play a key role in the film. However, the showman recently announced in a statement that though he had approached Big B for the film, the megastar didn’t give it his nod of approval.
Ghai’s statement reads, “In our forthcoming film Sarabjit to be directed by Ishwar Singh Muchhal and starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anurag Sinha, I need to clarify that Amitabh Bachchan is not in the film. Yes we did approach him but after reading the script, he informed us that he was playing a lawyer’s role in another film that he had already committed to…We mutually agreed not to cast him in this film, though I would have loved to have worked with a legend like him. So now we are still talking to other actors for this role and will soon be announcing the name.”
Sonakshi will essay the role of Sarabjit’s sister in the movie.
