Sonam Kapoor, who is getting rave reviews for her performance in her latest release Neerja, believes that once actresses in the industry start choosing the right kind of roles, they will start getting as much importance as the male actors.
At a recent event, when asked if she feels that actresses don’t get as much importance as A-list actors in Bollywood, she said, ”I have been trying to get that importance since the age of 23. So since the past 8 to 9 years we are inching towards our goal.”
”I did a film called Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which did great at the box-office and according to me I had a very good and meaty role in it. Salman Khan worked for 200 days for that film and I worked for 180 days. So it’s up to you actually, I chose to do those kind of films and if other actresses will also choose to do such films then definitely the change will come soon,” she concluded.
