Satish Kaushik, who had directed Salman Khan’s blockbuster Tere Naam, had shared screen space with the actor in his last release Bharat and the duo is joining forces again for Satish’s next film, Kaagaz.
However, there’s a twist. Salman won’t be acting in Kaushik’s directorial but would be producing it. Kaagaz stars Pankaj Tripathi and Monali Thakur in the lead roles.
Satish Kaushik revealed that while they were shooting for Bharat in Malta he discussed Kaagaz with Salman and the superstar liked the script so much that he decided to bankroll the project. He narrated the entire script to him, once they returned to Mumbai. The film will go on floors in October, this year.
Kaagaz is inspired by the true story of a farmer named Lal Bihari, whose land was snatched by his relatives and corrupt officials as he gets declared dead on papers. Satish Kaushik revealed that he showed a few rushes to Salman and he absolutely loved them.
Pankaj Tripathi is presently shooting for Ranveer Sing starrer ’83 in the UK. ’83 will recreate the historic events which led the Indian cricket team to win the 1983 world cup against West Indies and Pankaj is essaying the role of PR Man Singh, who was the manager of the erstwhile team.
