According to recent reports Karan Johar, producer of Brahmastra has requested Shamshera’s producer Aditya Chopra for additional dates of Ranbir Kapoor to complete his much anticipated supernatural fantasy romance Brahmastra, which is slated to release on 20th December, 2019. Reports suggest that the latter who happens to be Johar’s mentor has agreed for the same. A source in the report revealed that, Ranbir’s dates for Shamshera were supposed to start after the completion of Brahmastra but the shoot of the film is not finished yet and it seems like the director, Ayan Mukherjee requires more dates from the actor to complete his film. Both films require plenty of time from Ranbir, in fact the filming of the former is still not completed in the scheduled time and therefore, the actor might have to borrow some dates allotted for the latter.
In such a scenario, it seems like Shamshera which was slated for its big release on July 30 next year, will now be delayed by at least a few months which might make the actor miss his 2020 release which will therefore lead the actor to have a dry year with no release before 2021. Though there’s no official statement made by the makers on the same.
Brahmastra, produced by Dharma Productions also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles whereas Yash Raj Film’s Shamshera, is a dacoit drama that will be directed by Karan Malhotra and stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles.
