Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s upcoming film Ram Leela has been courting controversies ever since the trailer of the film was unveiled and it seems that the filmmaker will have to deal with one more issue in the near future.
Sources claim that one song in the film titled Mor bani thangaat kare was originally written in Bengali by Rabindranath Tagore and was later translated by Gujarati poet and social reformer Jhaverchand Meghani in 1944. However, despite this, Bhansali has not given due credit to the original composer. Needless to say, Meghani’s descendants are quite miffed about this and we wonder if they too might approach the court soon and create more problems for the film.
Starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Ram Leela is an Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragic love story Romeo And Juliet and the film is slated to release on November 15.
