The trailer of Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha starrer Jia Aur Jia released a few weeks ago and the camaraderie between the two acting powerhouses in the trailer is one of the highlights of the film.
It’s is India’s first female travel buddy film and the makers have recreated Dev Anand’s chartbuster Jia Ho Jia Kuch Bol Do from his 1961 release Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai.
The new version of the song is composed by Nisschal Zaveri and is sung by Jyotika Tangri. The song has retained the original tune and music lovers will also get to hear snatches of Mohammed Rafi’s iconic voice.
“During the shoot, everyone was humming the song because the title sounds similar to the song. So I approached the music company, with the idea of adapting the original song into a party track,” informed director Howard Rosemeyer.
“It’s one grand picnic, under the sun, on the beach and in a forest. It’s in sync with the film’s vibe and reflects the growing camaraderie between the two Jias though Kalki and Richa are not completely in character. They will be dancing in slow motion and the viewers will want to get up and join them,” added Rosemeyer.
