Jimmy Shergill suddenly shot back into fame with A Wednesday, along with actor Aamir Bashir. But it was Aamir who was picked by Karan Johar to play a role in his film, My Name Is Khan, the shooting of which is on currently in LA.
But such are the workings of fate that Aamir has been shown the door and Jimmy gets to come in on the project. The mini drama began a few weeks ago when Aamir was refused a visa by the US authorities only because he had forgotten to mention that he had traveled to Iran as well. The matter may have died down there as Aamir and the other Muslim members of the unit were to submit their visas again for a second chance. But it seems that because Aamir chose to speak about the issue, Karan decided to drop him. It seems, quite unreasonably so though, that Karan felt that since he went to the press with this visa issue, he would also be talking to the media about the film and disclose details which Karan would prefer remain secret. One is not exactly quite sure how the two are related, but such are workings of filmi people. And so Aamir finds himself out of the movie. Replacing him is none other that Jimmy, his co star from A Wednesday. It seems that Karan was so impressed with the movie, that when he dropped one actor from that film, he chose another. Aamir was to play Shah Rukh Khan’s brother in the movie. Well, Aamir’s loss has now become Jimmy’s gain. Tough luck.
