Deepika Padukone refrained from signing any film post Padmaavat as she wanted to prepare for her wedding, and now that Ranveer Singh and Deepee have become man and wife, the actress is back in action.
Deepika will be next seen playing the role of acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, in her biopic titled Chhapaak and the movie will go on floors by the end of this month. The film is being directed by Meghna Gulzar and we hear that Padukone, who first met Laxmi eight years ago, is putting eight hours into her prep everyday.
Meghna is helping her prepare and Deepika is also going through pictures and videos of Laxmi to get into the skin of her character. Reportedly, the film’s team has collected data on 10 other acid attack survivors to understand the subject better. The superstar will fly to Delhi a week before the film goes on floors to get accustomed with the character and the city.
Deepika is co-producing the movie along with Fox Star Studios and she will be seen sharing screen space with Mirzapur actor Vikrant Massey in the movie.
