Aamir Khan turns 54 today and as the actor celebrated his birthday with the media, he made a big announcement. After tons of speculations, Aamir finally confirmed that he is indeed doing the remake of Academy Award-winning 1994 release Forrest Gump.
As he cut the cake with his wife, Kiran Rao in the presence of the media, Aamir announced that his production house has bought the remake rights of the Tom Hanks starrer and that it has been titled Lal Singh Chaddha. Aamir revealed that he will be playing a Sikh in the movie and will have to undergo massive physical transformation to get into the skin of his character. Mr. Perfectionist will have to lose 20 kilos for his role and will prep for six months to get his character right. The film is expected to release early next year and will be directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame.

The story depicts several decades in the life of Forrest Gump (Hanks), a slow-witted but kind-hearted man from Alabama who witnesses and, unwittingly, influences, several defining historical events in the 20th century in the United States. Forrest Gump won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Hanks, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing.
