Songster Sami Turns Actor; Tabu, Rani, Vidya Probable Leads!
By MovieTalkies.com, 08 November 2010

Having won a long pending case against his former wife for possession of his home, songster Adnan Sami, slimmer and fitter, is gearing up for the new avatar of his life. That of an actor, that is, cast in a quirky comedy about a Punjabi man's search for Ms. Right who will love and look after his dear mother too. The movie will mark the directorial debut of Bela Sehgal, sibling of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who's edited all of SLB's movies and has been biding her time to turn director for close to four years.
Reportedly, Bela had approached Adnan earlier with a script centred around a grossly obese man. As Adnan shed off pounds and turned a tad svelte, Bela was faced with the option of casting another actor (Vinay Pathak was considered, as per sources) or scrap the venture altogether. Apparently, she settled for the latter, and came up with a spanking new script for the vocalist whom she'd directed in her music videos earlier.
States Adnan cautiously in a media chat, "It's finally happening, and I am all set for my acting debut. I can speak officially about it in a month's time from now. Bela Sehgal and I go a long way and she's a dear friend too."
The Sami comedy will be produced by SLB and an announcement to that effect will be made after 'Guzaarish' releases. As per sources, Rani Mukerji, Tabu and Vidya Balan have been shortlisted among the probable leads for Adnan.
Heaaaavvvvvyyyyyyy choices, what say?
