5 Things You Need To Know About The Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif Starrer 'Zero'!

Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Zero directed by Aanand L Rai has been creating quite a stir ever since the actor revealed the name and shared a sneak peek video of the film. The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in key roles, will see the megastar in a never-seen-before avatar. SRK will be playing a midget or a dwarf in the film. The film is expected to release on 21st December 2018. Here are some things you need to know about the film:

1) Shah Rukh Khan’s Character

For the first time SRK will play a vertically challenged man in the Aanand L Rai film. This is the first time that the star is collaborating with the producer-director, who has earlier given hits like Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Tanu Weds Manu. To see SRK play such a unique character itself is the USP of the film. Way back in the late 80's Kamal Haasan had essayed the role of a midget in a film called Appu Raja which was the dubbed Hindi version of the Tamil film 'Apoorva Sagodharargal'.

2) Anushka Sharma And Katrina Kaif’s Characters

As per the buzz Anushka Sharma will play a differently-abled person in the movie, while Katrina would be portraying the role of an actress. Grapevine has it that the film was earlier titled Katrina Meri Jaan. However, the makers thought that that would lead people to presume that the movie is about Katrina Kaif, which is not the case. The film marks the second collaboration of SRK, Anushka and Katrina after Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

3) VFX Effects

Visual effects will have a major role to play in the movie. Shah Rukh’s character is a vertically challenged man, and to make things seem more real, the makers have used technology to enhance SRK’s character. It seems that the makers will not will not superimpose SRK’s face on a vertically challenged actor. They will shoot using Forced Perspective, a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. This will make SRK look shorter. King Khan's company Red Chillies itself is working on the VFX part of the movie.

4) Tigmanshu Dhulia To Play Shah Rukh Khan's Father In The Movie

Director-actor Tigmanshu Dhulia who himself has directed critically acclaimed movies like Paan Singh Tomar and Haasil and also acted in films such as Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Gangs of Wasseypur, Manjhi - The Mountain Man will be seen playing Shah Rukh’s father in the film. As per the buzz, the filmmaker has said that he wanted to be a part of the project since he wanted to see how things are developed technically on such a scale.

5) Kajol, Rani Mukerji To Make Guest Appearances

Rani Mukerji, Kajol and SRK will be sharing screen space together after 20 long years in Zero. Yes, you heard that right! The trio, who was earlier seen together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, will next be seen in Rai’s film if the grapevine is to be believed.
