Aishwarya Rai Bachchan To Finally Accept French Honour On Her Birthday
By MovieTalkies.com, 31 October 2012
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was felicitated with the Officer Dan Ordre Arts et des Lettres (Officer of the order of arts and letters) by the French government back in 2009. However, she couldn't accept the honour, which is the second highest French civilian award, as her father Krishnaraj Rai was unwell.
Last year too, she couldn't attend the event since the French government postponed the ceremony in deference to the victims of the Mumbai bomb blasts. Now finally, the actress will be honoured in Mumbai on November 1, which happens to be her birthday.
Her family, including Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, are expected to attend the event. Before her, others who have been given the same honour include Shah Rukh Khan, George Clooney and Meryl Streep.
Sources claim that Aishwarya is very happy as she happens to be the youngest recipient of the honour and that it is going to be an emotional moment for her.
