Chittagong has fetched some fantabulous response for itself in all the special screenings that have happened for the film so far. With good reviews pouring in as well, the film marks the arrival of a new director, Bedabrata Pain, who patiently waited for a few years before his dream realised on the big screen.
"What really works for the film is that Bedabrata is a writer as well. He knows his craft and has done a whole lot of research on this movement", details the film's lead actor
Manoj Bajpayee, "In fact he has also met these people who have been in know-how of those children who actually participated in this historic movement. Also, he has gone through many books while also gathering first hand stories. On seeing the film, you would realise for yourself the kind of authenticity he has brought to the entire drama."
Manoj adds, "All I would say is that when you come out of theatre, your chest would be swollen with pride for the children and the people who were a part of that movement. It takes you back into the 30s world and tells you about what all goes into the mind of a child and how his emotions play. The narrative is such that you would feel the thrill, movement and the passion that people must have felt during the era gone by."
