'Barfi!' Boy Turns Year Older

One of the youngest as well as the talented actors of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor comes from the prestigious Kapoor family, which has been a pillar of Bollywood since the past many decades.
Born in Mumbai to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, Kapoor studied at Bombay Scottish School and went on to pursue method acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. On returning back, Kapoor appeared in two short films before starting to work as an assistant to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Black.
Ranbir, who had mostly played chocolate boy roles till then, deviated from the norm and was seen playing a ruthless political heir in
Prakash Jha's hard hitting political drama
Raajneeti. Ranbir went back to playing the romantic hero once more with
Anjaana Anjaani in the same year.
Ranbir was then seen playing the role of a troubled artist in
Imtiaz Ali's
Rockstar and the film earned Kapoor a Best Actor and Best Actor (Critics) award at the 57th Filmfare Awards. The young actor's last release was the
Anurag Basu directed
Barfi!, in which he played the role of a Chaplinesque mute-deaf young man named Murphy. The role which earned him rave reviews from critics and the masses alike.
