Dinesh Thakur Passes Away At 65

Veteran actor-director Dinesh Thakur, known for his roles in films like Rajnigandha, Mere Apne and Ghar, passed away on Thursday (September 20, 2012) at a suburban Andheri hospital, where he had been admitted following kidney ailments.
Thakur had appeared in character roles in Hindi films and also was a screenwriter and story writer. He is known for writing the story and screenplay of Ghar (1978), which won him the 1979 Filmfare Best Story Award. Apart from films, Thakur also dabbled in theatre and headed a theatre group called ANK Productions for the last three decades.
Thakur's funeral and last rites would be conducted at a crematorium today evening.
