Nora Ephron Passes Away At 71

By MovieTalkies.com, 27 June 2012 Nora Ephron, Tom Hanks

Iconic writer and director Nora Ephron, famous for Hollywood films like When Harry Met Sally... and Sleepless In Seattle, reportedly passed away recently at the age of 71 due to complications relating to acute myeloid leukaemia.

Born to a Broadway playwright and a Hollywood screenwriter, Nora started her career as a reporter for the New York Post. Saddened at the news of her death, actor Tom Hanks, who had played the male lead in Sleepless In Seattle was quoted saying, "Nora Ephron was a journalist/artist who knew what was important to know: how things really worked, what was worthwhile, who was fascinating and why. At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit mixed with love for us and love for life."
