Amitabh Bachchan: 'Johnny Depp was just being polite' 

A few days ago, it had been reported how Hollywood actor Johnny Depp claimed that he was a fan of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. However, the humble man that Bachchan is, the superstar seems to find it a tad difficult to swallow.

In a recent interview, when told about Depp claiming to be his fan, Bachchan was quoted saying, "Now, I find this most difficult to swallow! Johnny Depp is an international star of stratospheric proportions. How could he ever know who I am? When Mira Nair was putting together Shantaram with Depp, she had approached me for the role of Khan, a kind of mentor to the main character. I think she mentioned me to him and I guess when asked, he was merely being polite."

Bachchan, who recently shot for a song with son Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn for Bol Bachchan, will be next seen in Department, a cop drama about an unofficial police unit formed to curb the underworld menace.
