Rajkumar Hirani's Beer Tales
By MovieTalkies.com, 09 May 2012
At the Ferrari Ki Sawaari song launch, writer Rajkumar Hirani and director Rajesh Mapuskar shared interesting anecdotes relating to their upcoming film.
Rajkumar Hirani was highly impressed by his assistant director (Mapuskar) who had worked with him on Lage Raho Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots. So one night, after he had downed a few beers, Hirani promised Rajesh that he would write dialogues for his directorial debut. Years later when Mapuskar was planning Ferrari Ki Sawaari, he was quick to remind Hirani about this promise. The 3 Idiots director had no choice but to oblige.
Rajkumar Hirani said, "I ended up spending six months on it," to which Vidhu Vinod Chopra quirkily replied, "I thought you did it for the love of your assistant."
And so went the banter among these stellar filmmakers!
