The last time two A-list stars played siblings was probably in Josh, where Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played twins in the movie and the movie was much appreciated because of the unique pairing, which was considered a major casting coup of its time. Now, it seems that Zoya Akhtar is planning a similar accomplishment.
Buzz has it that the director of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has managed to convince real life cousins Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor to come together for a movie, in which they would play siblings to each other. A source informed that Zoya narrated the idea to Kareena while she was shooting for Aamir Khan starrer Talaash and the latter immediately gave her nod to the project. Moreover, even Ranbir seems to have loved the idea of the script and has given his consent too. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of 2012.
The source was quoted saying, "Zoya will revive the brother-sister relationship genre. Both Ranbir and Kareena were aware that they couldn't pair romantically for any film because of their family relationships. So for them to come together for any project would have required an unique and extraordinary script, which Zoya has come up with."
Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen playing a deaf and mute young man in Anurag Basu's Barfee whereas Kareena Kapoor will be seen playing a commercial sex worker in Aamir Khan's Talaash.
