Emraan Hashmi surely knows how to encash his popularity and success. After the immense success of his films (most recently The Dirty Picture), Emraan has increased his signing amount, however the 'Kissing King' claims that it's not a 'crazy price' and won't burden the filmmakers.
"I have increased my rate but I cannot tell you the exact figure. It is a safe price, it is not a crazy price. I have worked in the office of a producer, so I know what happens when actors overprice. So I know what that price should be so that it keeps me in the industry for a long haul (sic)," the actor stated, after unveiling the first look of his upcoming project Shanghai.
"As an actor, I feel my rate should not burden the film. There are few actors, who charge more and then eventually it burdens the film, but I will never do that," he further added.
Talking about Shanghai the 32-year-old actor said, "Dibakar has the ability to bring out an actor of his comfort zone. He made me eat lot of stuff, so that I become fat and have a paunch. Getting the physicality of the character was half the battle won."
Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, Shanghai is a political thriller and also stars Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin in the lead roles.
