To celebrate his thirty years in the industry, Vidhu Vinod Chopra has organised a six day retrospective of his work and Bollywood stars Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala, who have worked with him in the past, attended the screening of his film Parinda (1989).
At the event, Kapoor stated that the audiences are yet to witness Chopra's best. "I think his best is yet to come. I feel that as per his dedication, sincerety and vision, he has not yet made his best film till now," Kapoor told the media.
Anil, who was the main lead of Parinda, recalls, "I remember when Vinod had made the poster, it read 'The most powerful film ever made' and I told him that people will laugh at us, but it was really the most powerful film at that time. When Vidhu came to narrate the film to me, he told me that he had only 17 rupees and had no money to make the film, but he wanted to make 'Parinda. And this is how the journey started."
Vidhu Vinod Chopra has delivered many iconic films, like Parinda, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, Parineeta and 3 Idiots to name a few, in his career of 30 years. His next film is Sharman Joshi starrer Ferrari Ki Sawari, which is slated to release on April 27, 2012.
