Priyanka Chopra would soon be called the 'rani of remakes', it seems. After appearing in remakes of two Amitabh Bachchan movies viz. Don and Agneepath, Piggy Chops, as she is affectionately known in the industry, has reportedly been roped in to be the female lead in Apoorva Lakhia's remake of the 1973 blockbuster Zanjeer.
Sources have confirmed that Chopra has bagged the role of the female lead, played by Jaya Bachchan in the original and that she was offered a whopping Rs. 11 crore for the film. The new Zanjeer is reportedly set against the backdrop of the oil mafia and Priyanka would play the role of a spunky and bold NRI café owner.
South superstar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja would play the role of the male protagonist Vijay, which was essayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the original and Singham baddie Prakash Raj would play the antagonist, sources claim.
