Mumba police has declared that Saif Ali Khan's arrest is inevitable in the midnight assualt case.
The Nawab of Pataudi got into a scuffle with an NRI businessman, Iqbal Sharma, last night and not only did he verbally abuse him but also punched him on his face, breaking his nose. Post the incident, Sharma lodged a complaint against the actor at the Colaba police station, in Mumbai.
A case has been filed against Saif and his friends and they have been booked under Sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intent) of IPC. The cops today went to Khan's house; however the actor was not present there and his mobile phone too was unreachable.
"His arrest is inevitable as it is a cognizable offence, but it is bailable," said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Iqbal Shaikh.
"The section under which he has been booked is bailable. He has to come with a surety and if we find that the surety is a sound surety, we will grant him bail," Shaikh further added.
Reportedly, Saif was having dinner with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, her sister Karisma, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, her husband Shakeel Ladak and a few other friends in the hotel. Iqbal was also having dinner with his family at the adjoining table and the brawl started when he complained about the noise coming from the starry table. Apparently, the ‘Agent Vinod' star asked Iqbal to go to a library to find peace and also misbehaved with Sharma's father-in-law.
Buzz has it, that Kareena along with the others present will be questioned by the police. The cops are presently in the process of recording statements of witnesses and have scanned the CCTV footage as well.
