Director Tigmanshu Dhulia seemed in quite a radical mood during a recent press conference about his upcoming movie Paan Singh Tomar' starring Irrfan Khan and took potshots at the so called 'stars' of Bollywood while rooting for the talented Khan.
When asked as to why he did not cast any big star for the movie, Dhulia retorted, "This film is very different from the typical 'romantic' or 'action' films and I wanted an actor's blood and sweat, not just his time for it. Irrfan is a committed actor and you people have no idea about the conditions we have shot under in Chambal. We could not shoot after 5 pm…the area was so dangerous. Any other star would have been kidnapped. This film is not any star's cup of tea."
Based on a true story, Paan Singh Tomar revolves around the story of an athlete who becomes a dacoit infamous for his exploits in the crime infested Chambal Valley. The movie stars Irrfan Khan and Mahie Gill.
