You're damned if you do… and you're damned if you don't. Saifeena, probably, are quite clued in on this one. Ought to be, considering that their engagement date of February 10, 2012, has come in for a great deal of speculation among the scribe-tribe, moviedom folks, tattle-talkers and the like.
The duo, reportedly opted for Feb 10 to exchange rings at a "private ceremony to be attended only by close friends and relatives," since it's only been a few months since the demise of Saif Ali Khan's father, the iconic cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. Bebo's naysayers, though, have swiftly and smoothly concluded that the selection of date for the engagement is nothing short of a canny strategy to promote her Imran Khan flick: Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, that will grace cinemas that eventful Friday of 2012. A source close to the actress told an eager media, "Both Saif and Kareena Kapoor have been in love since the last four years. But both of them also have important films lined up. So, the engagement and the wedding date will have to be fixed accordingly, so that they can balance the ceremonies with the workload." As per insider squeals, Kareena will don a Vikram Phadnis creation for the engagement (whatever happened to poor dear hot-fave Manish Malhotra?) and the low-key affair is likely to be convened at a Mumbai hot-spot or at Saif's residence in the capital. At the recent reception of newly-weds Riteish and Genelia, Nawab Khan showed up with his lady gal Bebo and future pa-in-law Randhir Kapoor, offering multiple photo-op opportunities for lensmen.
General perception is that Saifeena are likely to solemnise their romance, with a wedding date planned post March 23, 2012, as Agent Vinod hits theatres. Er, Saifeena….wouldn't March 23 itself be a terrific date? Wot say?
