Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan surely seems to be in great demand nowadays. After Hrithik Roshan played the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in Agneepath, a character that was immortalized by the Big B, it now seems that South superstar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Tej will be playing the role essayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the Bollywood remake of cult classic Zanjeer.

The remake is to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia of Shootout At Lokhandwala fame whereas Prakash Mehra's son Amit and Ram Mirchandani of Eros will be co-producing it. When contacted, Ram Charan Tej's business manager confirmed the news and was quoted to have said, "He has given his nod to the project. However, we would like the producers to make the official announcement for the film."

A 1973 film directed and produced by Prakash Mehra, Zanjeer was a blockbuster hit which changed the Bollywood trend from romantic films to action films and pioneered Amitabh's new image of a brooding but explosive person, popularly known as the 'Angry Young Man' persona.
