He's gained accolades and soared his star status with Wanted, Ready and Bodyguard, all remakes of super-grossing South Indian flicks.
Reportedly, the remake fever has gripped Salman Khan once again.
Word has it that next in line on the South grosser remake is Mahesh Babu's Telegu Dookudu that has reportedly earned upwards of Rs.30 crore, majorly catching the fancy of Hindi cinebiz folks.
Kona Venkat, who worked on Ready in Telugu and Hindi, is reported to have said, "Mahesh Babu too felt that Salman would be the ideal choice to play the cop character in the Hindi remake. However, the fact that Salman has played a cop in Dabangg and will be one in Dabangg 2 could be a delaying factor in the remake."
Adds Venkat,"Sreenu who directed the Telugu Ready is keen to direct Salman in the remake of Dookudu. Salman is said that if the producer and director are willing to wait until Dabangg 2 is ready, then he would surely consider it."
As per highly placed sources, a budget of Rs. 60 crore has been earmarked for the Hindi version and the remake rights are believed to be over Rs.3 crore.
Now for that starry nod of Salman bhai...
