Evergreen actor Dev Anand, who will be next seen in his Chargesheet recently revealed that he would be making an extension of the 1971 hit Hare Rama Hare Krishna which had explored the issue of drug abuse amongst youth.
The actor-filmmaker, who celebrated his 88th birthday recently, is quoted to have said, "I am working on a fresh script titled Hare Rama Hare Krishna Aaj on audience's demand. It is not the remake of my Hare Rama Hare Krishna. It's rather an extension of the film."
Rubbishing the rumours that the new movie would be a remake of the original flick, Dev Anand clarified, "I don't believe in remakes and the film will see my character of Prashant in a completely new avatar. Every scene would be new and will be according to the present context. Like the 1971 movie, it will give today's youth a strong social message. It will have some soulful numbers too because without good songs a film cannot be hit."
