Rush Review In Short
A crime reporter lands the job of his dreams, only to realize that nothing is what it seems…
Rush Review Verdict
Without doubt, this has to be Emraan Hashmi
's worst film so far…absolutely avoidable
Rush Review Story Plot
Samar Grover (Emraan Hashmi) is a go-getting crime reporter at a news channel in Delhi before he is sacked for reporting a story about a murder victim, who is a close pal to the higher-ups at the channel.
However, Grover lands a lucrative job overnight with a news channel owned by an enigmatic media baron Roger Khanna (Aditya Pancholi
). Though Grover is initially reluctant to join the company as Khanna has a dubious reputation, he is soon convinced to accept the offer by Roger's Girl Friday Lisa Kapoor (Neha Dhupia
Though things seem rosy at first, the new job creates a rift between Grover and his girl friend Ahana (Sagarika Ghatge
). Moreover, Grover starts suspecting that maybe Khanna is causing incidents through his army of mercenaries just so that he can create news and report them. How Grover manages to battle Khanna and save his relationship in the process is what the rest of the movie is all about.
Rush Review Performances
The fact that Hashmi was absolutely uninterested in the film can be easily made out through his lackluster performance. The actor, who displayed his acting skills in movies such as Shanghai
and The Dirty Picture
, proves to be a major disappointment. The same goes for Neha and Sagarika, who manage to look pretty but nothing beyond that. Aditya Pancholi is back in form after losing weight and pulls off the stylish bad guy part quite effectively, but in the absence of powerful dialogues and a weak script, he too is helpless.
Rush Review Direction
Many years back, author Irving Wallace came out with this novel named The Almighty, which was about a media baron, who causes crimes to happen so that he can report it before his competitors do. The makers have adopted the same storyline but have made a hash job out of it. Right from the script to the screenplay to the music to the dialogues, everything is a major let-down.
Rush Review Final Word
Even if you are a fan of Emraan Hashmi, the wise thing to do would be to give Rush
