    Barfi! Review In Short
A mute-deaf young man's journey through life, love and heart-break…

    Barfi! Review Verdict
One of the most visually appealing movies this year, Barfi! tends to touch an emotional chord too..

    Barfi! Review Story Plot
Murphy (Ranbir Kapoor) is a cheerful mute-deaf young man who stays in Darjeeling and is the darling of everyone, except a harassed cop (Saurabh Shukla) who has his hands full with the pranks and mischief that the young man unleashes with a roguish charm. One day, love walks in the idyllic town of Darjeeling in the form of Shruti (Ileana D'Cruz) and Murphy (or 'Barfi' as he is called), falls heels over head in love with her. However, even as his love story is headed for disaster, there is hope for a second chance at love in the form of Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra), an autistic girl from a rich family, who stays in the same town and seems to have formed a unique bond with Murphy. How the young man deals with these situations with a smile on his face is what the movie is all about

    Barfi! Review Performances
Without a doubt, Barfi! is Ranbir's best performance till date. His Chaplinesque body language, his charming smile and the way he emotes through his eyes, is bound to impress one and all, especially the ladies, who would want to hug him tightly and never let go. On her part, Priyanka Chopra, who plays the autistic Jhilmil, has outdone herself with this movie and though her role is quite short as compared to that of Ranbir, Piggy Chops, as she is fondly known, simply wins you over with her child-like innocence and her puppy-like devotion to Murphy. Ileana D'Cruz, who makes her Bollywood debut with this movie, too is not a novice in the emoting department and the doe-eyed beauty manages to hold her own quite effectively.

    Barfi Review Direction
At the outset, this reviewer would like to mention that Barfi! is one of the most visually appealing movies seen in a long, long time. Basu, who makes the movie flow like a beautiful poetry, has taken efforts to capture the old world charm of Darjeeling and Kolkata in the 1970s and the cinematography is simply…awesome! The movie has a fresh look to it and the humour, drama and the suspense element, which springs up in the second half of the movie, is sure to hold your interest without letting go at any point of time.

Most importantly, credit goes to Basu for not making his characters evoke sympathy. Murphy might be deaf and mute, but he is a charming rascal, who gets his way with a twinkle in his eyes…Jhilmil might be autistic, but she is so happy in her own world that you might almost envy her for it!

    Barfi! Review Music
Composed by Pritam, the music of this movie is as melodious as can get with gems like Ala Barfi!, Aashiyan, Phir Le Aaya Dil, Saawali Si Raat, Kyon and Main Kya Karoon

    Barfi! Review Final Word
Without doubt, Barfi! is one of the finest films made this year and is a must watch for people from all age groups!
